Fellow Celebrities: as long as it doesn’t affect my record deal, movie contracts, etc etc.

It is odd. I feel like a lot of them were speaking up during the election, but now they don't seem to have anything to say.

Billie shared a reel on her Instagram Story that called Pretti a "real American hero" and later reshared a post on her Story that read, "'I don't do politics' Ok, well you're a fully grown adult so maybe it's time to start."

Real shit.

Years ago watching the (Dixie) Chicks get torn apart nationwide because of the most innocuous comments about president Bush made me realize the US was already fundamentally broken.

For that to have happened, and worse, now people have learned not to speak up is not "freedom" in any sense of the word.

To be silenced is to accept that you no longer live in a society that values truth.

The 24-year-old has used her public platform to speak about billionaires, Palestine, and, more recently, the actions of ICE in Minnesota.

If they haven't yet then prob won't

Billie Eilish has always been a real one... She stands on her business, and I respect her for that.

God bless Billie Eilish.

I am now a Billie Eilish fan

Why are Americans waiting for the wealthy tv/music people to speak up?

Most “celebrities” are (1) not well educated (2) not well read/aware of events and (3) not more intelligent.  They typically have a talent or talents that entertains people and/or are have a pleasing appearance.

Obviously, a good many “celebrities” do have some or all of those traits, and choose not to engage publicly for whatever reasons.

Billie Eilish seems to me to be an intelligent person and a reasonably talented singer, songwriter.  I say - use those talents.  Now would be a great time to get some well written protest songs out there.

Yes everyone is waiting with bated breath to see what people who make millions to play make believe have to say about all this.

Remember when Taylor Swift put out that entire “documentary” promising to take more of a political stand. Ha, I wonder how much money she made from that documentary. Anyone heard from her lately?

Hey Lady Gaga, she's speaking to you! Speak the fuck up

It is bitter to write, but even if all celebrities wrote it in their instagrams, nothing would changed

If they’re not already vocal, they’ll remain silent to not alienate any of their (nazi) audience.

Springsteen has never stopped speaking out for 40 years - haha

I'm honestly sick of celebrities. And I'm sick of Americans caring about every little thing they say or do. They are people, that's it. They are not better or more important then you. Smarter than you. Or better people than you. These people sit in their mansions, protected from the world. They know nothing about the real world. These posts are so self serving, feeding only their ego, vs affecting real change. They live in a world where the people they associate with, are the people who, responsible for this. I don't see Billie Eilish standing on the front lines in Minnesota. I see Renee Good. I see Alex Pretti. The people who make this country work and who always have are working class people. Real Americans. Not celebrities. They are takers.

Conglomerant billionaire owners of studios and media/entertainment outlets are watching. Those billionaire sports club owners too are keeping a keen eye on any uppity player.

Just how fascism likes it.

Those celebs probably voted for that shit. Crazy how the famous been so quiet about this
